@DerivaUK: thanks for your post. Since truepundit.com is a known disinfo page, and I couldn't find any other news outlet confirming that Robert Mueller gave him an 'FBI Award', I will flair the post 'Accuracy in Question' for the time being.

Thank you.

P.S.: It would be 'Carl Ferrer', not 'Carl Fuller', as stated in your intro. ;-)

How is TruePundit.com a disinformation site? It's one of the only websites out there covering the truth @think-

In fact, I thought somewhere along the line Q had said to follow THomas1774Paine

Here is a photo of the commendation: https://imgur.com/h6EMPZV (image doesn't look faked)

First search: News article referring to commendation: http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/news/the-battle-over-backpagecom-rages-threatening-free-speech-and-the-internet-as-we-know-it-8999043

Request flair removed. I've removed the flair.

Well, they published the fake interview with a Saudi Princess at the end of last year, which they claimed she gave to Le Monde, but which has never been conducted.

Although @Vindicator alerted them that the interview was fake, they didn't take it down, but pushed it the next morning on their Twitter feed.

News article referring to commendation

I wasn't able to find the commendation mentioned in the article you linked. Would you have a quote for me?

Thanks.

It is very easy to forge a document like this and to take a photograph. Not saying they forged it, only saying I couldn't find a reliable second source.

I'm of two minds on this one. The case of the Saudi Princess is the only time I've known of that True Pundit has spread fake news, and they weren't the only news site to fall for that one. (Also, they have an auto-retweet program set up, so the fact they retweeted it more than once is not that big of a surprise. As I recall, my reply was one of hundreds to that tweet and they may not have seen it.) They have deep sources in the FBI and have broken many stories way, way ahead of time, though. WaPo and the NYT have published BS many more times than TP has, in my opinion.

So, @Blacksmith21 @think- In my opinion you are both right. Let's take the middle path and flair this "Unverified". :-)

would a Washington Post article help?

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/true-crime/wp/2017/07/18/under-attack-backpage-com-has-its-supporters-as-anti-trafficking-tool-but-many-differ/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.ebbc00ce0f80

Backpage for years, and they have gotten information and convictions. McDougall, who declined to speak to The Post on the record, quoted numerous examples in 2013 of law enforcement officials thanking Backpage for their help

“Mr. Ferrer,” went one email from the FBI in 2011, referring to Backpage chief executive Carl Ferrer, “We want to submit your name for recognition of your assistance following this case.”

Interesting that David Boies is involved in this. He represented the Epstein victims against Dershorwitz, too...and presided over the Microsoft antitrust case. We should dig into this guy.

I don't quite see how this article corroborates TruePundit, though. ???
