Is that a... Vape pen he's holding in his left hand?

Also, does he have a catheter? What's up with those tubes/wires? I assumed IV at first, but they don't appear to be connected to him.

ETA: I see one of the wires is a cellphone charger, just under his left wrist.

ETA2: I guess those thick cables could be the bed controls? Maybe?

Pretty sure you're spot on there.

I might be behind the times here, but can you vape in a hospital? Especially in California?

I'm honestly not sure on that lol. I don't think the same rules apply due to it being vapor and whatnot, truly unsure, though. Thinking out loud, if ever there'd be a place it would be allowed, California sounds apt - moreso if he's getting special treatment of some kind, being an actor... /shrug

Something's definitely off here, but, I can't quite figure it out.

I can see that; there are some pretty strange, oftentimes contradictory laws and regulations in CA. I remember one time I visited Berkeley and I was told to put out my cigarette, while on the city streets, by a cop sucking down a cigar.

I'm obviously unsure of the law, but I feel pretty strongly that you can't vape in a hospital. Which could speak to his celebrity treatment... or this is somebody's home?

or this is somebody's home?

That thought crossed my mind, wouldn't be too hard to rig up a makeshift infirmary(however functional it may or may not be)... if he's under attack, it makes a little sense to seek shelter outside of a hospital(where his presence would otherwise be publicized - damn paparazzi)... Again, thinking out loud.
