One thing which sometimes clouds matters is reference to "the blockchain". But, as may not be universally known, there are thousands of blockchains, some of them private and closed. So if one blockchain gets corrupted to a critical degree (e.g. with CP) then multiple others could replace it. My point being that there seems to be no stopping blockchain technology, or cryptocurrencies in general, even if specific cryptocurrencies do go the wall. One interesting thing maybe not so well-known either is that you can register identities on the blockchain e.g. this coindesk article features an entrepeneur who registered his daughter's birth in the bitcoin blockchain The final paragraph of the article is oddly resonant with some of the discussions on this forum: "Further afield, the possibility of using a decentralised ledger to register identity has also caught the attention of celebrities such as Lucy Liu, who was revealed as a surprising advocate during the private Block Chain Summit held at Richard Branson's private island earlier this year." Illuminati much?

Bitcoin was likely created by the NSA. Bitcoin is the normalization of hypothetical currency, digital currency, with the goal being the end of physical currency. Crypto currencies are bullshit. They don't physically exist, so you cannot ever hold them, and they are vulnerable to dissapearing or attempts to retreive them being rejected. Bitcoin is comically created by an anonymous source. How convienent. Bitcoin is now on the rigged futures market. Governments pretending to be leary of bitcoin is like their selling us that Trump is their enemy and is not pushing their agendas. If you don't hold it, you don't own it.

I tend to agree with this. Crypto has less lasting stability.

They call what they are building Puertopia. But then someone told them, apparently in all seriousness, that it translates to “eternal boy playground” in Latin. So they are changing the name: They will call it Sol.

Dozens of entrepreneurs, made newly wealthy by blockchain and cryptocurrencies, are heading en masse to Puerto Rico this winter.

They are selling their homes and cars in California and establishing residency on the Caribbean island in hopes of avoiding what they see as onerous state and federal taxes on their growing fortunes, some of which now reach into the billions of dollars

And these men — because they are almost exclusively men — have a plan for what to do with the wealth: They want to build a crypto utopia, a new city where the money is virtual and the contracts are all public, to show the rest of the world what a crypto future could look like.

Blockchain, a digital ledger that forms the basis of virtual currencies, has the potential to reinvent society — and the Puertopians want to prove it.

“They call me up saying they’re going to buy 250,000 acres so they can incorporate their own city, literally start a city in Puerto Rico to have their own crypto world,” said Mr. Rill, who moved to the island in 2013. “I can’t engage in that.”

Other Puertopians arrived on the roof as a pack, just back from a full-day property-hunting bus tour

. From the middle, Brock Pierce, 37, the leader of the Puertopia movement, emerged wearing drop crotch capri pants, a black vest that almost hit his knees and a large black felt hat. He and others had arrived on the island in early December.

Mr. Pierce, the director of the Bitcoin Foundation, is a major figure in the crypto boom.

He co-founded a blockchain-for-business start-up, Block. One, which has sold around $200 million of a custom virtual currency, EOS, in a so-called initial coin offering.

The value of all the outstanding EOS tokens is around $6.5 billion.

Now we know what is going to support this Puertopia, , “eternal boy playground”

Thanks for this. Pierce is now heavily involved in EOS now. I've posted before that this coin reeks of the worst crimes and your article puts it all in perspective. Main points: EOS is based in the Cayman Islands, run by pedophile Brock Pierce, and the Whitepaper explicitly states there is no purpose to the coin. Also look into statements from the head of Etherium recently.

think I'll try to do a post on what these guys, Pierce, Collins-Rector, Shackley and Singer are up to now

think- ago

Brock Pierce who got convicted for assaulting boys....

new4now ago

I don't think Brock got hit with any charges

think- ago

Not here, but in Eastern Europe.

new4now ago

was it Spain?

The three were arrested in Spain in 2002 and Collins-Rector was extradited to the United States. Federal prosecutors in Los Angeles brought new criminal charges against Collins-Rector in 2004. Although they were named in the original New Jersey civil lawsuit, Shackley and Pierce were never charged.

I think he did default on either one or more civil suits though

what do you mean an attempt to freeze assets?

My thought, was this is someone seriously screwing with Bitcoin, since as the article points out

“Our analysis shows that certain content, eg, illegal pornography, can render the mere possession of a blockchain illegal,” . “Although court rulings do not yet exist, legislative texts from countries such as Germany, the UK, or the USA suggest that illegal content such as [child abuse imagery] can make the blockchain illegal to possess for all users.”

“This especially endangers the multi-billion dollar markets powering cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin.”

What do you think about Trump making a Q in the air while saying "Together we stand," along with the Q post that said "Together we stand" preceding it?

This is not the first time warnings over the ability to store non-financial data within the blockchain have been issued. Interpol sent out an alert in 2015 saying that “the design of the blockchain means there is the possibility of malware being injected and permanently hosted with no methods currently available to wipe this data”. THIS is not good. I have been trying to understand bitcoin and block chain but I am having a problem understanding how this would be used to trap by LE. I am wondering if that is not the case and people are just using bitcoin to purchase CP.

This doesn't seem like a LE trap.

I think this is either someone fully aware of how big an impact this would be on the blockchain, that is someone trying to screw with the whole system.

OR

Someone who had no idea that this would be permanent and was using the blockchain as a form of sales receipt. The report mentions links. So it might be something like

Buyer 12345 bought deepweblink/content/illegalimage.jpg

So what if CP is on the blockchain. Yah I'm all for feeding these pedokikes to alligators. But I highly doubt anything is gonna happen no one is gonna be arrested just for owning bitcoin. This is nothing but FUD. People have been sharing CP via bittorrent for years and bittorrent is mainly used for piracy which is illegal as well yet not much can be done to stop it.

If we truly want to embrace the decentralized revolution then we must accept the bad as well as the good. Yes bitcoin can will allow the most vilest of humans to operate unimpeded. if your not willing to accept it then your no better than some hypocritical SJW. Doesn't mean you have to like it though.

An attempt to freeze assets?

That's what I immediately thought when reading the article.

Rather, the key is if Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies can truly become methods of exchange that are widely used outside of the control of national governments and global central banks If we can create a truly autonomous financial system that is independent of the current debt-based system, that would be a wonderful thing for humanity.

Unfortunately, the elite are going to fight very hard to keep that from happening, because control over currencies is one of the main factors that allows them to have so much control over the entire planet.

I wonder if they'll find a way to destroy it... attack internet itself?

carmencita ago

I don't understand it completely but I agree that they will probably try to kill it somehow. At least, if the details are correct, that this would be out of the realm of the bank controlled by the World Bank, the London Bank and the Vatican Bank and sidestep the control of the Rothschilds, then yes, they will try to destroy it with all their might. I hope they don't try to attack the internet, but I would put nothing past them.

BIGLY17 ago

It would cost trillions just to attempt to manipulate or “hack” the network; I don’t put it past them but it still is far from a minor effort and ultimately would be extremely difficult to conceal. Ultimately it would require China crypto-hardware companies to collide with the Deep State; however, once again...I would not put this past them long-term but eventually I anticipate an attempt in this regard once their propaganda campaign against crypto does not yield the results they hope for.

carmencita ago

I am sure they will continue their campaign. What a win this would be for us, if only............
