Giovanni Pastrone's 150-minute 1914 historical spectacle "Cabiria" (tonight and Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. in LACMA's Bing Theater) is both one of the most influential films ever made and one of the most rarely shown. Those who haven't seen it should think of this as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. They actually showed this film in a Theater. A Real Theater. Does anyone know if there have been copies made for purchase? That would be amazing.
Carmencita I know exactly how you feel . I learned about Halloween in sept 2001 by October I was throwing all my holiday decorations in the trash ! This is why I don't celebrate any secular holidays . They are all pagan .
Well, I can't tell this to my Mom so I will have to continue until she is no longer with us. She will be too over wrought. I can't do that to her. Really, the coloring of eggs always meant to me the coming of spring and I always though of them as flowers. The coming of all the beautiful spring flowers.
Yes I know it's hard for ones who are set in their ways . Just know that God knows your heart . He knows you aren't thinking of the god Ishtar when you colored eggs .. it's just a hard thing to continue doing once you know the truth behind it all .
Yes, Mom and Dad still go to Church. I have tried to interject things about the pope and religion. Trying to get them to stop donating. Not working. I keep telling them they can continue praying, but by going they continue to support what the priests are doing to the children and the church is supporting that. They get a glazed look. Sigh.
What makes me not worry too much about family waking up is the fact that we are all unique individuals, and all get our knowledge at different times , as we are able to handle it . God knows what we can handle and when we can handle it . We aren't robots! If people don't learn the truth now , the Bible says they will be taught the truth after Armageddon . It also promises a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous . The apostle Paul was one of the worst persecuters of christians and even stoned them to death because that's how sure he was about what he was doing . God knew his heart was good , but he had been misled . So he corrected him and he became one of Jesus Apostles! I'm not saying everyone will have a chance to learn the truth after Armageddon, because there will be a lot of people destroyed for good . We won't even question why either because it will be obvious why they had to go .
I know what you mean, knowing this though makes it harder. But that is the lot in life for us, the ones that know the truth. Sadly, we cannot get through to everyone.
