In June 1914, Cabiria became the first motion picture to be screened on the grounds of the White House when a screening on the lawn was viewed by President Wilson and his family. Cabiria was remade in 1931, with Pastrone serving as producer and the restored version was screened on 27 May 2006 at the Cannes Film Festival, featuring a filmed introduction by director Martin Scorsese.
