So in a Nut Shell: I am appalled that our justice system, in which a jury of the defendant's peers which the defendant helped choose, unanimously found him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt of sexually offending against 6 innocent victims, yet the court of appeals vacated the convictions after finding that the trial courts efforts to protect the defendant's constitutional rights to a fair trial violate an arbitrary statutory right that the defendant had waived on two prior occasions. This guy must have some Big Friends in High Places. TO Top Things Off, They have no idea where this guy is. Great.

If he waived a right to a speedy trial then there was no jury. Nice nut shell of totally not what happened.

I interpreted it that he waived his right to a SPEEDY trial. Not that he waived his right to a speedy TRIAL.

In other words, there was a trial by jury but it took awhile because the defense team kept requesting delays. The delays were approved in return for the defense team agreeing that they wouldn't later claim their client's rights were denied because the trial wasn't speedy.

Speedy Trial Clause of the Sixth Amendment to the United States Constitution provides that "[i]n all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy trial.

Yeah, I don't get it. It says he helped choose his own jury. Something Stinks.
