"Charity" workers taking advantage of Haiti again:

These people seem to collect like cockroaches wherever people are vulnerable.
I notice that one person tried to get them to do something about it, and they just covered it up. When a video got released, though, all of a sudden they're "concerned" and trying to fix their public image.
Just like cockroaches, shining a light on them seem to make them scurry around.

And why do the press still sanitize these stories. Children are allowing themselves to be raped in exchange for food! It's disgusting!

I read the comments under some articles about the scandal and felt really sick afterwards.
'But many girls volunteer to do this.'
'Why shouldn't they use prostitutes, I do the same.'
'That's only human.'
'Nobody is an angel, so why would they be?'
And so on....

That's how sick our society has become. But don't forget as well, we know a lot more than the average person and the way the story is being reported in the press makes it difficult for people to grasp what's really going on. They are thinking that these workers are picking up prostitutes on their nights off and having some fun between consenting adults. The average person does not 'get it'.

Yes, and many are indifferent, like the people who read your Facebook post and didn't react.
How much I have learned during this past year (first as a lurker, than as a board member) I realized some days ago when I searched for news articles on human trafficking. One year ago, I would have regarded these cases as not so much related, now I see these things 'multi-dimensional'. (Lol, doesn't this sound esoteric.....but I mean it in a very rational way.)
