The first thing that hit me about Michelle's portrait was the black/white harlequin images on her ball gown. Also, from a small distance, she looks to have an image of a heart on the gown. Then, of course, the obvious rainbow connotation for the lgqt community. Haven't we discussed the domino/harlequin images on other sites and logos? Anyway, both portraits are definitely sending a message, and I think we know some of the hidden ones. And, with Michelle being painted as "gray" are they trying to say, underneath, she is not really from this world? Because the only gray humans I've seen, are dead ones. I don't know-if it was me, and this was my portrait- I'd be mad. And, that is why I'd never have an artist's caricature done. For something like that, and how long it will be in the country's possession, you would want it to look nice, not completely weird. (Also, Michelle's arms are painted freakishly long-wth?) just smdh.

interesting Harlequins were back in the day when males would act female roles and vice versa. I certainly know that was the case with Pantomime actors, but not sure if it was the case typically with Harlequins...
