My guess: The article would have been scrubbed off the Mirror.co.uk so fast it would make your head spin. At least this way, the article stands on its own. Not like the abusers would know the names of their victims; they likely just show up, pay a sum of money and then get time in a blacked-out room. If a powerful individual did go after an anonymous article to have it taken down -- that would be stupid on their part and would alert authorities.
