I read it and had no problem with it. It's basically saying we can't be sure of the truth, which we can't.

This article is just edgy provocation. It is almost in favor of Allen, but you are right. Your POV is reasonable. I only have one other rubric to appl, myself. What does the victim gain by coming forward? The record shows that she has consistently been denied an justice or satisfaction, but she doesn’t give up.

IMO, the victims claims still have weight, and should be respected.

Nobody is disrespecting the victim by saying we don't know the truth. It is simply stating a fact. If we can't even quietly state that one simple thing without people becoming hysterical, it's a wonder justice is ever served anywhere to anyone. Law of averages I guess.

You are right that guilt should not just be assumed. At the same time, research shows kids are being honest about sexual abuse 98 to 99% of the time

And what research would that be? I'm not buying that for a second. Children have moms. Moms have boyfriends. Mom gets pissed at boyfriend. Mom coaches child to accuse boyfriend. Extremely common tale. Which isn't to say men don't date women for the express purpose of getting access to their children, but c'mon. Women can be vindictive as @#$%. Let's not lie to ourselves. I'm not trying to say that's what happened in this case. But you can bet your ass it happens.
