At least some people are still concerned about what's appropriate to the thread. Seems like a bunch of newbie garbage is floating to the top lately. This is good stuff.

I totally agree. It's why we came her in the first place.

I don't wanna get into the habit of bashing newcomers but my shill-dar starts going off when I see some ridiculous post from a 3 day member.

Who? OP has been here over 1 yr. There is someone here for about an hour though.

Just in general, I keep seeing posts on several boards from members that are crazy new, and the posts always seem distracting; full of old news, stuff that's been covered, or stuff that kind of flies off the rails a bit.

I think its perfectly fine to have newbs repost old stuff that makes some of us oldies yawn. Sometimes there's stuff that we missed way back, sometimes its stuff we didnt think was salient and have forgotten, and new developments make you go 'aha! - that WAS important back then I just didnt realise its significance'

dot connecting is an unfolding process

Point well taken. I agree. That's why I instantly regretted my hair triggered newb bashing. I guess we were all there at some point. For example, the Scalia thread. Good reminder for everybody about the timeline and Podesta's email. Podesta's emails should remain the cornerstone of much of this. They disclosed more than any other single dump IMO; still producing leads and connecting dots.
