These brothers are serious behind-the-scenes players in the US political world. These are the people who operate at a deeper level than the politicians and entertainment types that are easier to investigate.

They're the "men-behind-the-curtain" who "pay to play" with bribery fronts like the Clinton Foundation, get rewards from congressmen they have in their pockets (like government sugar subsidies,) and are involved in some seriously nasty stuff.

Note that at the deeper levels, people don't care about false choices like left/right, Republican/Democrat, liberal/conservative. Those labels exist as distractions for the "little people" to box-in their thinking and prevent them from looking into what is really going on.

These guys cover their bets by making campaign donations to both parties: Alfonso Fanjul donates heavily to the Democrats (and has made huge contributions to the Clinton Foundation,) and he even managed Bill Clinton's presidential campaign in the state of Florida in 1992. Another one of the brothers donates heavily to the Republicans and has worked on their campaigns.

These guys are so well known for their corruption, that they inspired a book in 1993: Striptease by famous Florida author Carl Hiaasen.

What is notable, though, is their involvement with the Clinton Foundation and their huge farmland and resort interests in the Dominican Republic, which shares a border with Haiti. When these guys say "Jump" to Dominican politicians or law enforcement, those guys say "How High?"

Is this starting to sound like an ideal setup for getting trafficked kids out of Haiti (just like Laura Silsby and Dominican lawyer Jorge Puello were trying to do) and on to planes headed for the US? In fact, why do the traffickers try to get the children into the Dominican Republic instead of flying them out of Haiti's airport?
