Ten Republican and Democratic members of the U.S. Senate have asked the State Department to pressure the Haitian government to close an orphanage where "multiple" children being adopted by American families have allegedly been victims of sexual abuse.

The letter -- signed by senators from Florida, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Minnesota and Virginia, and addressed to Deputy Secretary of State John J. Sullivan -- says the children at an orphanage on the outskirts of Port-au-Prince tested positive for chlamydia and reports that they have been victims of abuse.

"While Haiti's social services agency has had an ongoing investigation into the orphanage for more than a year, nothing has been done to stop the abuse," the Jan. 29 letter says.

Yup, NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO STOP THE ABUSE and these kids have chlamydia?!!!

Rule 2: article doesn't indicated that they were abused BY the adoptive families. rather, it says they were abused at the orphanage prior to being adopted.

That's a pretty awkward way of saying the American families found out they'd been sexually abused, but you're the moderator.

It's crystal clear that the article is saying they were abused at the orphanage prior to be adopted. The abuse was discovered when the children tested positive when taken to the doctor by their adoptive parents.

It says it right there ... ADOPTED BY AMERICAN FAMILIES HAVE ALLEGEDLY BEEN VICTIMS OF SEXUAL ABUSE.

Either it's an awkward way of saying that the adopted families found out they were abused or they were abused.
