The Chicken Box is the first bar I sang at in my first band when I was 16. It's on Nantucket and they had a raw bar, like all restaurants on the Cape and Islands. The band played sometimes several nights in a row, and stayed at the adjacent bandhouse, which was quite disgusting. This was a couple of decades ago. The Cape and Islands have a lot of foreign workers who get brought in for the summer season. Most of them are from either Jamaica or Poland; all young and attractive. It's actually very common for foreign teenagers to work in resorts and resort towns here in New England. I wondered about it then, but never thought "trafficking". Now when I'm on The Vineyard/Nantucket/Block Island, I make it a point to try to communicate with the young staff about their background. I never saw anything suspicious at The Box though.... just a lot of pot smoking and rich people getting drunk.
