Treason act 1649- https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treasons_Act_1649

Just a thought...

How would that apply?

I thought you were smarter than that😂

I'm sorry but it's pretty dumb to think Sean Hannity was referring to an obscure point of British history. Most American's do not study the English Civil Wars at all.

It's even more incredibly stupid, to think that a law that was null and void almost 400 years ago in Britain applies to the US today.

It reaches a level of being truly ironic and moronic, when you consider that Sean Hannity is Irish Catholic and one of the folks who passed that law unleashed a genocide against the Irish in the form of Oliver Cromwell.

Also Guillotined?

I know all about the beheading of the king since it was a famous reformer John Owen who preached to parliament the next day. I have the sermon. Owen is one of the reformers used in tutoring the theological students in Trump's old church. He (Owen) also preached at Cromwell's son's funeral. You should delve deeper into this "genocide." Also, there is an alternative explanation now to what Hannity was doing, you might have seen it by now. And stay away from that fake news. A lot of Dems are about to go down as they plotted against POTUS, memo will be released soon. And keep following Q. Okay?

Are_we_sure ago

The moment the memo is released is the moment is blows up in Devin Nunes face. His goal is to not make the memo public, but to let people believe what's in it.

You keep acting like Trump went to church and is religious. He is not. No. I don't know what the alternate explanation, I just knew this one was ridiculous.

And yes, there are US folks who would know about the English Civil Wars, but it's not common enough to use it as a reference. And you, if I remember correctly, pine for olden days before America declared its Independence.

America was founded by puritans who believed in theocracy, the "will of the people" overthrew what they had established. The (flawed and sinful) "people" then becoming the ultimate arbiters of right and wrong has led to the complete corruption of this country. Will of the people replacing will of God of the old and new testaments. Thus right and wrong became completely subjective. Recipe for disaster.

Trump is not the same man he was even three years ago.

The Nunes memo ... wish we could bet on this. You're almost as puzzling a person as I am.

Oh, these puritans had no trouble acquiescing in the rule of their monarch, and would have been quite hesitant about rebelling ... would have taken a lot for them to do so, as "the powers that be are ordained of God." Heavy taxation, even w/out representation, would not have been enough.

America was founded by puritans who believed in theocracy,

This is false. American was founded by several groups. Which of the Founding Fathers was a Puritan?

Americans had enough of theocracy by 1776 and knew its dangers. This is why in 1789, freedom of religion comes before freedom of speech in the Bill of Rights

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;

Trump is not the same man he was even three years ago.

What could this possibly mean? No more lying? No more cheating on his wife? No more attacking and insulting people even those who are working to make him look good?

The Nunes memo ... wish we could bet on this.

Here my thoughts on the Nunes memo. It's part of the ongoing Trumpist attack on the FBI. Nunes made the stupid unmasking scandal which still lives on as an active thing on places like voat, but was proven to be BS months. Susan Rice was proven to do nothing wrong. This is just another round of that. It's a memo that Nunes wrote. It is not a truthful explanation of what evidence went into the FISA warrant on Carter Page. It pretty much ignores or distorts that evidence according to some of the very, very few folks who have SEEN both the evidence and the memo. Nunes will not show the memo to fellow Republicans in the Senate who have also seen the evidence, not will he show it to the FBI, even though he appears to be making several claims about them. The entire point of the memo is to have talking points for Trump's base because they know he has committed obstruction of justice and would not be able to talk to Mueller under oath without admitting to that crime or committed additional crimes of perjury. Nunes is betting we will never see the memo because the intel agencies say it will compromise highly classified sources and methods. Remember Carter Page was warned in like 2013, way before he joined up with Trump, that the Russians he was talking to were spies and they were trying to recruit him.

America was first colonized by puritans and separatists over religious reasons. Founding Fathers threw off this "yoke." But were still heavily influenced by them. Harvard was founded by puritan theologian Thomas Shepard. It was not meant to be a secular institution.

The puritans did not believe in "freedom of religion." It was their way or the highway. They weren't interested in every Tom, Dick, and Harry spoiling what they had. That's why they left their homeland and risked their lives. They had a theocracy, and wanted to keep it that way. When secularism and false Christian religions took over they could still bask in "freedom of religion" that the Bill of Rights provided. They knew their "good thing" would likely not last.

Bet all that sounds crazy to you huh?

There's a new book out, "God and Donald Trump." Trump was holding it in the air at the Davos summit. Now be nice and give the man the benefit of a doubt. You would expect the same of others.

I am totally confident I would win a bet about the memo. Why are you still on the Russia narrative? Are you being disingenuous? You do know Trump is willing to testify under oath. I just can't believe people are still buying this Trump and Russia crap. There's nothing there.

The American colonies had a lot more than puritans. In addition to Congregationists, you had Anglicans, Baptists, Methodists, Quakers, Unitarians, Presbyterians, Dutch Reformed Church, Jews, Catholics, Mennonites, Huguenots, etc.

Jamestown, the first English language settlement in the Americas was founded by Anglicans.

St Mary's in Maryland is considered the birthplace of religious tolerance in the US as it was a haven for Catholics.

New York was always fairly diverse as it was the center of trade and Pennsylvania was even more diverse and it was founded by a Quaker

1649

In fact in 1649!!!!, The Maryland Toleration Act was passed, allowed freedom of worship for all Trinitarian Christians in Maryland, but sentenced to death anyone who denied the divinity of Jesus.

This toleration didn't last as Puritans soon took over and outlawed Catholicism.

It was because of the religious violence of the original Colonies that American enshrined religious freedom in its constitution.

Personally, I prefer freedom of religion to theology.

There's a new book out, "God and Donald Trump." Trump was holding it in the air at the Davos summit.

Which means what? Trump is still hoodwinking Christians? That white evangelicals have changed their position on morality in Politics?

http://ponderingprinciples.com/tag/evangelicals/

Now be nice and give the man the benefit of a doubt.

Why I should I give Trump a second, no make that a millionth chance? Why do you believe he deserves the benefit of any doubt? We just learned the dude cheated on his pregnant wife with a pornstar. (Just as he cheated on all his wives.) Have you seen him in act in anyway like a devout person? Do you believe God believes in shithole countries?

You and I both know that if Obama did the things that Trump has done, evangelicals would roast him over it.
