The judge sentenced him to 175 YEARS, and said it was her 'honor' to do so. I hope the zero tolerance with which his case was treated by the court reflects on other, higher profile pedos that I hope will be coming into the spotlight sooner rather than later. Even if he had the best lawyers in the world, I feel like this judge saw what he did as such a heinous act that she would've done her absolute best to sentence him, and that's encouraging. The MeToo movement has brought some much needed attention to sexual assault, making it socially unacceptable to excuse assault anymore, and hopefully gotten people more ready to deal with a much darker issue.
True. Going after just the abusers while ignoring the people and systems who enabled them is a huge problem. There was a good episode on the podcast Criminal about that, about a choir school that allowed pedos to take advantage of the system. It took a while (far too long imo) but eventually the school itself got shut down. If Nassar was training Olympic athletes, I wouldn't be surprised if at least some people in the IOC were aware and complacent to the abuse.

Yeah but they don't appear to be going after whoever protected him (conspired with him?)
