This is a double edge sword. I am glad that Geek Squad turned over a child predator to the police, but, at what point does this end? Will Geek Squad be turning the rest of us in to the police for engaging in "wrong think" when they find evidence that people are thinking and reading things the government forbids?

In Europe people are being arrested for "anti semitism" on a regular basis. Things like having tech geeks snoop computers and turning people in to the police can become a menace to society.

The problem is that by imposing risk on people who didn't pay it encourages people to pay because they don't go after those typically. It's created commercial child porn that is far worse. It's gone as far as snuff. It didn't exist before the government imposed what is equivelent to copyright policy on child porn.

The vast majority don't pay for music but a few do because of risk. That paying minority has created music billionares.
