The Hivites are said to originate from Mt. Baal Hermon in area of old Canaan in the area of Israel. Sodom and Gomorra was located around the banks of the Dead Sea and is in the heart of Old Canaan. Mt. Baal Hermon is not too far from Damascus.

If you type Mt Ball Hermon into google earth it should pull it up.

I would love to agree with your last point. Sarah basically says the same thing. If this is true however why is their Hivite creation story so goofy....Lilith a half god mated with a demon? Who do you think these ancestors of theirs really were? Im still trying to get the bottom of how these original cult leaders got so evil and why they hate humans so much. Were they possibly a competing humanoid species (like another neanderthol or cone headed species such as those depicted throughout egyption and european art and the many thousands of skeletons found all over the world)
