Maybe alefantis threw such a big fit because we were on the right track in the beginning then someone started calling those tiny sleuth ditches tunnels, he was elated about that because it threw you all off the scent trail. Why would he have to streamline or repair the DRAINAGE so thoroughly? This premise reinforces the idea that this is a processing plant of some sort.
