Yeah, but it makes even less sense if you assume that's what the email is talking about. I think it's the handkerchief they put under the victim, and the "map" are the spots of blood, semen and feces that form on it.
One the one hand there is the reality that the house was used for a Summer Getaway by several groups of people and a piece of cloth with pizza and a map was left on a kitchen island.
(My theory is the cloth is not an handkerchief, but was a tea towel like this with pizza and a map and its a common tourist item in in Italy. Handkerchief is the word used by someone who has not seen the cloth, btw.)
There there is the fantasy that house was used for series of Satanic Rituals and they used a piece of cloth to create an important souvenir that would have all the forensic evidence to connect to a horrible crime. And they forget it. They just forget this important souvenir that is deeply incriminating. Did it fall under the bed some how? No. It was on the kitchen island. They just left this important and incredibly incriminating souvenir behind in an incredibly obvious space. This is the theory the fantasists have. And their evidence of this? An email they don't understand.
Then the realtor seeing this stained piece of cloth doesn't just throw it away, but immediately grasped its value and asked the renter if they wanted it sent back to them. The renter doesn't immediately gather up this evidence herself or tell the the realtor to destroy it, but decides to ask around and see if anyone wants it and while she does it, she half-assedly uses a code in a way that shows she knows exactly what this is and in another way shows she's unsure of what this is.
(She either knows about the code or she doesn't, but if she knows about the code, her email makes no sense because she shouldn't be unsure of what the cloth is. You can't simply have it both ways.)
