As you all know, the #metoo tag on Instagram/Twitter is to indicate that the poster has been sexually abused or assaulted. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-5207555/Lindsay-Lohan-shares-sexual-assault-hashtag.html
Lindsay Lohan has been a star since she was 11, and it's been long speculated she was victimized. Her parents did her no favors, and she's shown all the classic symptoms of lashing out and breaking down, drugs, promiscuity, etc. Currently, she's a "yachter", allegedly renting herself out to whoever is paying the bills - usually in Dubai. While I'm not surprised if she's been a victim, I wonder if she'll ever name names.
While it's possible she's referring to abuse as an adult, what's creepy is the art she chose. It looks very much like a little girl or a young teen, not a grown woman. Possibly depicts a lost pregnancy or an abortion, but also has a creepy MKUltra vibe.

The artist is Mark Ryden, all his work is similarly creepy. Other examples of his work make the above piece tame in comparison.

Some SERIOUSLY disturbing art
angry_mob ago
as an artist myself i have to most of the art i like is disturbing. i don't think art should placate the masses. that's boring as fuck. great art is an exploration of the inner landscape, even if it IS a landscape painting. many times, art is an exploration of the psyche - warts & all. rather, we should be asking, what are these paintings saying to us. and what do we do with that information? MK Ultra is definitely possible, if not probable, but that doesn't necessarily make it bad art.

On the contrary, the execution of these paintings is impeccable, the man is incredibly talented. But why choose lactating hairless girls as the subject? As a member of the audience, I'm suspicious of his motives. I own that his choices make me uncomfortable, but IMO the inspiration/motives of an artist should be more honest and sincere, and less a spectacle. This is less heart and more jump-scare, no matter how beautifully presented.
