The above picture shows Ken Kay, executive director of the Computer Systems Policy Project on the left and Robert Holleyman, president and CEO of the Business Software Alliance on the right. CSPP (www.cspp.org) was created in 1989, and later on renamed as Technology CEO Council.

The donation, $250 to Senator Patrick Leahy on March 30 1995, came at the same time Tony Podesta’s employee, Ken Kay, was seeking access to the White House.

In response, this reporter pointed out the key March 1995 donation conflicted with the White House denial. Within hours, John Podesta filed a change with the Federal Election Commission. Peter Sherman, a campaign director for Senator Leahy, filed an official change that was also logged into the Senate records.

March 1995 was also a critical moment at Podesta Associates. A March 1995 document sent by the CSPP companies and their director, Podesta Associates’ Ken Kay, shows that the group sought changes in U.S. export policy. The document, titled “Export Control Reform” was sent to Commerce Secretary Ron Brown.
