  • Not mentioned - Awan wanted the restrictions lifted so he could take farther fares on Uber. Go figure.

I've been meaning to look more closely at Uber for a while now...

The mind reels when you compare their operating infrastructure to what would be required to run a large trafficking network within a city, doesn't it?

And they're crazy mad about getting a driverless-car fleet up and running. Can you imagine how that could be used to traffic? Just put the drugged kids in the back seat, punch in the location, and they're delivered to the person who ordered them online. No driver to call the police and tell them that he's got a drugged up minor.

fuck me! thats dark but I could see it.

migratorypatterns ago

Yes, and that's not all.

Say a girl comes out of a club. She looks like she'd fit a customer's request and boom! She gives one address, but it's switched and the car takes her to another location. What the hell is she supposed to do? She's in a locked car.

I heard on the news over the weekend that they are setting up a plan to pick up people wanting to go to the ER. Can you imagine why they want to do that? Passengers might be in severe distress and not know what is happening. Nothing but trouble. I don't know much more, just came into room at tail end. @Blacksmith21 @argosciv

That sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. You can't leave someone in distress alone. There has to be somebody with them. That's such a bizarre use for a driverless car. I would never let any of my family or people I know use one of those under those conditions. Either you get somebody to drive you, or call an ambulance.

This is how they will take advantage of these sick and distressed people. People are too poor, don't realize the harm, etc. This country is on the verge of a huge disaster if we don't stop taking away serious necessities. I never use uber or lyft. Too many problems with robberies, some rapes, etc. I will take a bus, train, etc. They scare me to death because they will cause the taking of jobs and as we now see, endangering lives. You and I both agree, we and our friends and families are much too important to us.

I never use uber either. Why support a business where the employees can't even make a living wage. Further, the business takes money from legitimate cabbies who can and do make a living. Passengers are not only being hurt, but the legitimate profession of being a cab driver. It's been a sustainable form of employment for decades. And pretty much anyone could become one, so it was great to fall back on if someone lost their job, or needed a second source of income to make ends meet. Uber and that horrendous silicon valley putz who owns it are ruining yet another viable profession.

People need to start putting their money to what is going to make the country stronger and not where you're going to save $2 and help the downfall of jobs in this country.

I KNOW! People laugh at us for calling a cab and not Uber. Can you imagine? What has happened to people? The Younger set really does not listen to the older folks, but let me tell you this. They older folks are getting dumber too. My friends use Fed Ex and UPS. Really? What is wrong with the USPS? They are way cheaper and always gets there the day they say. I finally flipped someone to use them. Where they amazed at the price. Also those Self Service Checkouts. I never use them and chew my hubby out for it. Yes, these are all jobs that people need when going through college and in between jobs. And how about a life time job? These are jobs that people did not need to go to college for and still make a decent living to support a family years ago. This tells me something much larger is afoot.

migratorypatterns ago

Absolutely re: the not going to college to earn a decent living remark. Totally true.

I definitely use the USPS all the time. Their flat rate packages are the best thing ever. I remember this one thing I had to ship and UPS wanted $240 to send it! I was like what? For a damn box? It was big, but light in weight. There was no reason for the astronomical pricing. So I waited a day and went to the post office. $65!!! What a difference! And that was next day service! Package was received on time.

I know. To make decisions, you really have to consider everything. You're affecting things each time you make a purchase. It's liking votng. I want this kind of country. I want these kinds of jobs here. So if you like people not earning a living wage, continue to go to Wal-Mart and use Uber. Just know that you're responsible for your neighbor being on food stamps.

carmencita ago

Yeah, right. They complain about food stamps, then kill jobs by visiting these places. Vote with your dollars. So easy. Cut back on electronics, cut back on movies and entertainment. We know what is behind those anyway. We are able to support these places because we don't overdo other things. We had jobs for people in so many more areas. Believe me getting rid of these jobs adds to the sex trafficking. Many more kids on the streets with parents working many jobs to make up for one. It all adds up.

migratorypatterns ago

Absolutely true.

All part of the NWO Plan :(
