Everyone can swallow independent events. It's when you pull forth information that hints at corruption or facts that prove there is something systemically wrong with the government they clench their metaphorical rectum and won't process any more information.

I think it is because people know that if their government has become tyrannical then violence appears in their horizon of the future. When the people are no longer in power there is few options left. The things is, if people would just cross that threshold more easily we would have no disagreements with the government. We would simply all be at the doorsteps of the white house for the smallest transgression against us and we would have our way 100% without shedding any blood.

It's selfish and immoral to be uninformed ang ignorant about what is going on. If you are one of those who "don't care about that stuff" then do everyone a favor and don't vote.
