The Redaction of that particular incident makes me believe that it was NOT a suicide attempt.
What I also found, upon further inspection of the Autopsy released last week, was that the door he hung himself on was 65 inches, or 5'5", with Bennington's height being 70 inches, or 5'10". So this means he had to have been slumped over or had to jump and then fall on his legs in order for his hanging to work.
The belt was extending about 4ft, which is an unusually long belt for someone of his stature. And, supposedly, he exhibited no suicidal intention the night before. Very suspicious, I think some details were left out on purpose.
so was it auto-erotic asphyxiation gone wrong or...? just plain old murder?
nobody killing themselves would hang themselves on a door of that height. can i get a source for the height of the door, the autopsy report is like 100 pages or so...

Seems like a murder to me. The redacted part of the autopsy makes me believe this was not a one-time attempt.
The fact he somehow hog-tied his long body, threw himself into a pool, got loose, and swam to safety, WHILE DRUNK is amazing.
Never saw that before.
