That was a clear message to Cal that if he pisses them off they'll kill his mother. So my guess is that he was going to make a public statement disassociating himself with the organization. He might of also been planning to make information public that hasn't been made public.

I'm on the board of a charity organization, and I know this because they asked me, lol. However, I never receive any government notices or references to this organization and so I can see where people might have been involuntarily named to the Second Mile board and wouldn't necessarily know it.

Now what's interesting, and maybe has no connection to this, is that in recent years it's become more common for baseball players' family members to be kidnapped for ransom. Remember when it happened to Urbina's mother? Two big baseball names, two mothers, two kidnappings. Just a coincidence? Possibly.

In Urbina's situation, authorities captured and identified a guy named Chiguiro as the kidnapper. Notice in this Wikipedia article https://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Mother_of_the_Detroit_Tigers_baseball_player_Urbina_was_kidnapped_by_FARC_leader they bring up this:

According to the Colombian authorities, Chiguiro is envolved with the exchange of drugs by weapons with Brazilian traffic drug dealers.

Drugs, weapons. And what's the missing trifecta? Yeah, child sex trafficking. Makes ya wonder.
