The seven emotional stages of grief are usually understood to be shock or disbelief, denial, bargaining, guilt, anger, depression, and acceptance. The public is stuck in stage one. I remember a while back, Denver news did a story on who were the customers of child traffickers. Average businessmen, they looked as normal as pie. You would expect them to look evil and sleazy. All hollyweird/political creeps coming out of the woodwork, people are just getting over the shock of that.
