My one question is why did the woman of NBC do nothing all this time, Katie Couric on video admitted Matt pinching her on the ass in 2012. Woman like her is the problem fo saying nothing and then many years later speaking up.
Exactly what could anyone do? I've already explained that SAG-AFTRA which covers broadcasters as well as actors has always been beyond useless. Even today with claimed changes complaints must be filed with lots of evidence, and witnesses willing to also lose their careers and be violently threatened, with the already way overburdened EEOC division. If the perp is a union member maybe a small fine will be levied. Right. Lauer makes over $25,000,000 a year and has gotten a lot of women fired.
Do you really think the NY Police Dept would have done anything? NBC top dog claims he only knows of 1 complaint that's been filed. What a joke. The only reason NBC took action now is that the NY Times and Variety are doing major reveals with dozens of complaints. Everyone who had a friend of a friend of a friend anywhere near an NBC intern knew about disgusting Matt Lauer.
As far as I know every state has a labour board, If woman would email HR and go to HR to complain then file a claim with the labour board things would not have been what they are today. One woman on ABC was ask why she dident leave the company and her reply was I enjoyed working at NBC, WTHF.
State Labor Board would never assist with abusive work situations. When I worked in CA and did not get my promised pay for temp assignments I was repeatedly & cruelly insulted & blown off by the State Labor Board. Forget the idea of trying anything more complex.
Technically it's SAG-AFTRA's job as broadcasters pay dues to this union. That's the real problem. They're totally useless.
You don't realize how very difficult it is for some women without lots of resources to locate another job when every single place you've ever worked extreme abuse of one kind or another is the norm.
All I know is my wife,daughter-in-law, step daughter and granddaughter all stand up to men when the man say's something inappropriate. My wife fired a male worker two years ago for staring at a female co worker. She had the balls to report the problem to HR. IMO woman just do nothing at the workplace in fear of losing the job.
