There was a video today much circulated where Matt Lauer is interviewingAnn Hathaway ....What he is trying to do in the interview is sexualize the show itself ...reminds me of the "Family Feud" show where Harvey/producers/networkhave taken the show into sexual questions and responses. It was suggested in one of the articles I saw that the Morning Show w/MattLauer had been losing ratings and that was the response -- sexualize the show.
Meanwhile, Ann Hathaway gave a really eloquent response to Matt Lauer's Questions and comments to her about a photo taken of her "at a very vulnerable moment" ... of a wardrobe failure. Her response made Lauer look like the idiot he is.
HOWEVER, let's not fail to notice that Comcast and Verizon are also trying to move pornography into mainstream movie channels and programming -- and of course into movies. And that this sexualizing of TV programming extends also seemingly to programs like the Morning Show. This all simply confirms that this sexualizing of TV shows is purposeful -- and that Matt Lauer may not how been working strictly out of his own instincts.
