But think bout it; Olympic gymnasts are usually training for the games when they're young teens. Parents often can't afford to move to the training city, or be there every minute of the day with their kid, and they trust the team employees to do the right thing. The girls in this environment are highly motivated to stay on the team, and aren't going to risk losing out by reporting an assault. So by default, you have a lot of impressionable, ambitious, under-supervised kids running around. That position is perfect for a pedophile, or anybody who wanted to abuse girls regardless of age.
sorry... that makes no sense. These abuses occurred over many years and there had to be at least ONE athlete who would have come forward. Olympic training for gymnastics involves many coaches, athletic trainers and assistants. So these are absolutely NOT 'under-supervised kids running around'.
Gabby has been all over the place on this issue, which indicates confusion and uneven advice. Yeah, this thing is big and it completely looks like a Penn State cover up.
I think the point you made about Gabby also touches on how much the sickos mess with kids not just physically/sexually but also mentally/emotionally. survivors wanting "to tell" is all mixed up with shame and guilt and fear, sometimes even fear for their lives and family members' lives

I find it almost impossible to believe this guy could abuse so many top level athletes without a wider cover up.
This entire story has Jerry Sandusky/Penn St. cover up written all over it.
