A lot of these, a huge number, were just regular prostitutes and johns busted for prostitution. I'm thinking these numbers are hugely inflated. There were tons of stories that included "human trafficking" in the headlines that did not qualify.
I've been clicking around and the links are good. Some pedo-porn rings and some do include the johns arrested during the stings. It all counts though, money paid for by a john eventually makes its way into a politicians pocket.
I did some of that too. There more more human trafficking related articles than I expected. I'm not sure what the percentage of articles would be that would not qualify but from the small sampling I took it was not as bad as I expected.
