Every place I've worked, including top rated law firms, USC, and the best casinos in Las Vegas, ALL city, state and federal governmental positions in CA and NV, and especially at the Census Bureau, I have been repeatedly verbally threatened and constantly harassed for working too hard.
ALWAYS the most mild complaints to supervisors or HR led to my termination. NO ONE, and especially not women promoted to management, cares. NO ONE wants to hear about extremely serious problems in their company. I'm talking about being physically threatened if I didn't stop working 1/2 hour early. Office bullies got more than a dozen people to follow their bidding.
Shall I tell you about the massive, massive FRAUD and drastically changing info I witnessed ESPECIALLY AT THE CENSUS BUREAU? Do you honestly think anyone in government EVER ACTUALLY CARED? I'd like to see just one government office or utility in Los Angeles or Las Vegas that isn't corrupt to the core. Workmen's Comp lawyers don't exist for victims in Vegas.
There was a group of Hispanic women working for Caesar's Palace at the very least glamorous job in the entire hotel, "Kitchen Workers." That means they ran the industrial dishwashers behind the scenes. They were hired for their reliability, physical strength.
ALL of these women of varying ages were constantly sexually assaulted on a regular basis by their manager, also Hispanic. One was pregnant and what he was doing made her fear she's harm her unborn baby. ALL were afraid to complain, knowing none of them would ever get another job in the entire state ever again. They would be permanently blackballed.
Finally an aggressive relative of one of the women who had a long term job as a paralegal in Southern CA convinced her boss to assist. Caesar's Palace was advised to settle out of court. All the women had to leave the State of NV as they knew they would never again get a job. None of the Vegas newspapers were willing to cover the story. They did not want to be blackballed.
Yes this was the days before the internet. I heard the story from a lawyer I once briefly dated who had just quit his job with the Vegas DA's Office in total disgust.
