Now that you mention, I think it was a Family Guy episode in which they do a "too soon" 9/11 joke, wherein someone who is standing with a crowd watching the collisions unfold, inappropriately boasts about his luck at having been late to work(at the WTC towers), thus avoiding being in the thick of the catastrophe...
EDIT: I also remember recently reading a story from someone else(famous, forget who) who claims to have missed/changed their flight at the last second, also sparing them from certain death on 9/11.
