I probably should have just posted this in the comments of this post. I can see that it's an (((insider))) gesture, but why the eye? Here is an entire album, all these celebrities and politicians with the same, rather conspicuous damage to their eyes... I really think matheasysolutions is on to something.
Well, I am not too familiar with Crowe but am assuming that is him on the upper far left. I really cannot see it too well, but would call it a possibility. Matt Damon on the lower far left I would say there is a good chance, but I would need a closer pic. I would see I am pretty sure. I think there are a lot more of the stars that have them as well. Would not be surprised.
