Well, the kind you have in Mario Puzo's novel. The Godfather was the muscle, the brains, and the one you went to for favors and then you'd do one in return. That's my take anyway.
The last Puzo novel I read was Omerta, so I do get what you mean. My first thought was that you meant a "howdy doody" kind of relationship, hehe, nothing would surprise me when it comes to these people any more.
