That is incorrect! There is such a thing as righteous violence - not least of all, in situations where you must defend yourself or another innocent person in distress. We as humans, cannot hide or repress our 'negative' emotions, they are part and par for the course. What you do have a choice in, though, is how you respond to your emotions and how you direct that energy.
To compare wishes of violence against a pedophile, with the violence enacted by said pedophile, is a woefully false equivalence and only serves to foster cognitive dissonance.
Hate is not something to ignore, but rather, something to tame - akin to ego.
Why are you always so correct? But of course, I know I have a right to defend myself and fight back and do what I have to do no matter how violent and also help others too. But when it comes to stringing someone up compared to jail I opt for jail. I sometimes would love to give a pedophile immediate electric chair or way worse, but then I ponder the thought of what might make him suffer more. To be locked up for years and years without raping children. Ultimately I will go for anything that keeps them off the streets.

I know what you mean when you are researching and wish you had not found what you did find. At that point you have to ignore the evil or meet it face to face. Many times I wanted to ignore what the priests I read about had done and the evilness of what happened to Little Jane Doe in St. Louis. I could have written it off to some insane criminal but I knew better. Ah, yes this work is hard to face. Evil lurks at every turn.
