That's what jumped out for me as well. So bizarre. Like that picture Pozobiac noticed on the wall about reaching for the sky or something with latter to a creepy door. Later their little creeper museum looked very much like that picture. There seems to be a code ques to that type stuff, inside 'jokes' or just mockery.
