Today, Governor Rick Scott announced the appointment of John Stafford to the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority. Stafford, 66, of Sarasota, is the chairman of the board for FCCI Insurance Group. John has previously served on the Suncoast Offshore Powerboat Racing Association, the Suncoast Foundation for Handicapped Children and the Shrine Hospitals of North America Investment Board. He currently serves on the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Advisory Board. He succeeds Gary Kompothecras and is appointed for a term beginning October 3, 2013, and ending November 17, 2016.
