Reading the quoted text, it doesn't sound forced and indeed, if this were a play at messing with kids, it seems illogical to provide a service which aids in the recovery of missing children... (especially if said missing children, are registered with CH.I.P before being abducted)

I'm not exactly comfortable with chips being installed in the human body, but, I'm not seeing implication of such a thing at all, let alone any attempt to force CH.I.P upon the unwilling... am I missing something in the linked post/article/whatever?

Is this something that you would participate in? If you had a young kid would you bring them to a masonic lodge to be fingerprinted and videoed? I think that it is setting your kid up to be a target.

argosciv ago

Me personally? No, I would just do my best to keep an eye out for my child.

But that is partially my point, it seems fully voluntary.

2impendingdoom ago

Voluntary until there is a law requiring it. These creeps are lawyers, judges, town/city coucil/state senators....

argosciv ago

Of course, don't think that isn't a consideration of mine lol.

IF there comes hints of making this enforced by law, then I'll start to panic again - but really, I cannot see many people volunteering for this anyway, for exactly the reasons you speak of.

It almost seems like a pointless gesture.

2impendingdoom ago

If that's the case, why do they do this? They must have some reason.

argosciv ago

I honestly have no idea on that one...

Let's assume for a moment that everything's above board... maybe it's their way of making a good-faith gesture considering how far the masons have been dragged through the mud in all this - due to the actions of a few sick and perverted individuals?

Just playing Devil's advocate for a moment.

Any bunch of guys interested in collecting photos of young kids is the first suspect/s in my mind if one of those kids later went missing. If they've been dragged through the mud, then why are they even going here, seems they would want to keep themselves away from all activities involving kids, not get deeper into it. It seems like you are defending them.

argosciv ago

Defending them? Not a chance, I'm in no hurry to defend a group which isolates women from it's membership. (though it is worth noting that all-female lodges now exist and that the OTO accept(s/ed) men and women equally)

Just not jumping to conclusions as the quoted text doesn't leave me feeling immediately uneasy.

Fair points are being raised, I'm not trying to shit on those at all. It just seems most illogical to me, to be so public about the service offered, if the intent is to facilitate further fuckery.

This kind of stuff, with everything else going on, it can't possibly be a goodwill gesture. Maybe the lower level masons are thinking it is but the upper levels will take that info and any kids in it are as good as fucked. This is another version of NCMEC, Amber Alert, CPS, etc...

argosciv ago

I sincerely hope that isn't the case.

I'll maintain a degree of healthy skepticism, consdering it is the masons afterall, just not getting any alarm bells at the moment. /shrug

I think the Alarm Bell just went off. Illinois chip program, look at the top of the page. http://ilmason.org/site/GrandLodgeIllinois/GrandLodge/Charities/CHIP.aspx @2impendingdoom

They take DNA samples!

  • Color Photo that records image and height and is digitized on a convenient CD that can be easily circulated by police to the media and distributed across the State within an hour via Illinois’ Amber Alert Program.
  • DNA Sample taken through a saliva cheek swab is the latest tool in the scientific arsenal to make positive ID’s of lost children.
  • Fingerprints are the oldest form of positive identification since they are unique to every person.
  • Recorded Interview captures on the same CD as the picture the appearance, speech patterns, personal characteristics, and mannerisms for easy media distribution.

YEP. I have been onto this for a while now. I am awful at posting and I think that @fogdryer did a piece on chips as well. That is why I have been DEMANDING that people keep posting about the MASONS every single day. They are behind this. Think about it facial recognition I am sure is in the schools now when kids use their tablets. 1984 IS HERE FOR OUR KIDS.

2impendingdoom ago

Yes, please stay skeptical. And when they come up with some "success stories" of finding missing children because the Masons provided photos and finger prints and that justifies the program becoming mandatory, everybody will think its a good idea.

"Create the problem then provide the solution", definitely a valid consideration.
