Here are some links about the film.
Is 2017 the year Joaquin Phoenix wins an Oscar? We’ll have to wait until February to find out, but the trailer for You Were Never Really Here suggests Phoenix’s performance in Lynne Ramsey’s film will take some beating. In Lynne Ramsey’s November release You Were Never Really Here, Phoenix has apparently outdone himself playing a hit man who attempts—with the help of a hammer—to rescue the victim of a Manhattan pedophile ring.

Joaquin Phoenix plays a tormented law enforcer who saves a young girl from child trafficking. The brief Cannes synopsis reads: “A missing teenage girl. A brutal and tormented enforcer on a rescue mission. Corrupt power and vengeance unleash a storm of violence that may lead to his awakening.”Amazon Studios is behind “You Were Never Really Here.” The film’s extreme violence could make it a tough sell outside of the arthouse market, where the combo of Ramsay and Phoenix surely makes it one of the most high profile releases of the fall season.Amazon is handling U.S. rights but has not confirmed a release date yet.

Joaquin is an incredible actor. Don't forget he was also in The Master, a movie that was a thinly veiled condemnation of Scientology
