I've been doing some reading and while this won't necessarily provide anything "new", I felt it important to share a lengthy, pre-2016 source of information pertaining directly to Arpaio's involvement in the alleged 400(or more?) cases of sexual assault against children, which were not investigated or which were otherwise 'botched' by the department(s)/employees under his command.
Read all 3 pages (source: http://archive.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2011/12/04/critics_tough_sheriff_botched_sex_crime_cases/))

Note: this part at the end really got my attention...
In their follow-up on the case of the 13-year-old attacked by the man claiming to have a broken car, El Mirage police discovered Arpaio's office hadn't interviewed the victim.
An El Mirage detective went to the girl's home just off the city's main drag. The girl's uncle said she and her mother weren't around and took the investigator's card with a promise to ask them to call.
The mother never called back. She and her daughter's whereabouts are unknown.
The case of the molested 3-year-old was returned to El Mirage police unworked five months after the initial report. The family's beige tract home was deserted, the phone disconnected.
This is surely a point of concern, set aside arguments about racism/immigration and such for a moment - the focus point is Arpaio's blatant disregard for minors who are victims of abuse & that alarm bells should most certainly be raised about Trump's pardoning of Arpaio - albeit that a pardon confirms guilt.
Sorry if the connection isn't already apparent, feel free to suggest improvements to the post, if any rules are broken or at risk of being broken.

Of course you would like to set aside the reason for the witchhunt.

youwhat?
No, the reason is simply that my focus is on the 400 unanswered cases of assault against children - that takes precedent over any qualms (one way or the other) about racism, immigration, etc - now, if these happen to factor directly into the unanswered cases of child abuse - sure, bring it up.
But if you can't see that the children are what's important, regardless of race, I invite you to ignore me and my concerns.

There were not 400 case of sexual assault against children. There were 400 cases of sexual assault. You have nothing but biased reporting by democrat hacks who were on a witchhunt.

"But if you can't see that the children are what's important, regardless of race, I invite you to ignore me and my concerns."
So the democrats want to blame Joe for illegals not wanting to work with law enforcement because they might get deported. That is why they were trying to get them to 'come out from the shadows" The democrats use 'caring about children' every chance they can to push their agendas. That is all that was going on here. Just like Hillary is an 'advocate for children'..

Yeah, pity they dont give a crap about what's going on in their own backyard. Since when do the libs (to be fair, 99.9% of dc politicians) give a SHIT about the kids? Their sudden concern (about this person and this person only) should tell you all you need to know.

This Sheriff Joe thing has been posted at least 3 times today. Now the New York Times is running the story. Makes me think something big is about to happen.

makes me think I've been caught up in some bullshit, seeing the other posts after it.
I do apologize for the propagation, though, the damage has already been done to me.
