If I understand that the 5 yrs is for child abuse then that is seriously not enough. Any child abuse should at in the very least get you locked up for life. No ifs ands or buts.
In the case of a very young person, that length of time would allow for sufficient maturity to develop discernment, in an old one, for the dementia to progress enough to become noticeable.
You can't turn it around once it takes hold. You do not get off with a light sentence because of age. The psychiatrist field has been brainwashing us with this and it must be fought tooth and nail.
Imo, there are people at the very top of this profession that are linked to pushing the narrative of normalization. There has to maybe be something in it for them also. This has been going on for quite some time.
I think its brought on by micro-strokes from heart disease, if Garry Glitter is any indication. But rational discussion on the issue has been suspended due to politics.Perhaps after the current shitstorm settles?

China has reasonable laws. five-year prison sentence and fine for under 14 seems fair.
