That's a very odd thing for China to allow. If there is one thing China hates, its damage to their public image. I see some executions in the near future.
Are you serious? They have landfills full of dead babies in China. They execute gay people. They don't have to worry about their "image" in the West because the left covers for them and even promotes the same sick shit they're doing.
Yes, I am serious. Public Image is everything for the Chinese Communist Party, it is one of the pillars that holds up their power base. And the West is only part of it. More important to them is how the domestic population sees the Government.
Why do you think they expend so much effort to control what their population sees and hears online?
An example would be corruption, which was a big thing in China (still is in most places), but nothing was done about it, until there were a few high profile scandals and then, presto, Communist party cracks down on corrupt officials, executing them left right and center.
When the population starts to get pissed off about a particular issue, it is easier for the Government to do optics, rather than breaking out the guns straight away. Easier to keep the sheep in line if you make it look like you actually give a shit when they bleat loud enough.
So yes, if enough outrage builds, expect to see the organizers being rounded up, because the Chinese Government does not want its domestic population, or outsiders, for that matter, associating that sort of sick shit with their country. It can happen in secret as far as they are concerned, but the second you're making the country look bad, they set their sights on you.

Fair enough. We'll see what comes of it then, if anything.
