I think it almost comes with the territory of being obscenely rich and not having to work. These rich people get bored. They won't want to partake in things that everyday, ordinary people consider risqué, dangerous or edgy--that's too banal. They want to do things that ordinary people are not allowed to do; they want to feel above the law. Pedophilia, murder, child rape are those things.
