The Roman Catholic Church was formed after this as a way to co-opt the new Christians who believed he was the Messiah and had rose again. The Romans formed pagan rituals around the birth, life, death, & crucifiction of Christ in complete opposition to what he had stated and to the teachings of the New Testament.
