That is one weird article, LA_Trump. The way the account switched hands after building a big following and the old PG tweets were scrubbed and it suddenly became..."progressive" ???? WTF? Why would a progressive want the audience of a right wing account? That makes no sense.
What does make sense, though, is that this is an attempt to undermine Trump, using Pizzagate...just as the Daily Beast seems to be doing with this article:
Build up a Pizzagate-believer account with tons of tweets, followers and likes
Scrub the tweet history
Shift direction and then run a poll that those pro-Trump, Pizzagate Truthers will make trend in Trump's favor
Claim Trump is retweeting Pizzagate conspiracists to make him look ignorant, gullible, uninformed and crazy
That was my first question. How does Daily Beast know this? They must have some sharp-eyed researchers. Or they are quite familiar with that account. I'll go with the latter.

Smells like David Brock to me.

IMO, any article good or bad involving PG is forward momentum. But how would the Daily Beast even know about the accounts previous history??

It's also possible that this account is run by Mooch's off-WH comms team, and then leaked the story to DB.
