This story is somewhat curious on multiple levels. I think this warrants further investigation as the crime seems to have been highly organized and because it is unclear if the modeling agency was complicit.

This is related to PG as it deals with human trafficking on an organized and massive scale that possibly involves the modeling agencies. Children are often lured into modeling by human traffickers and subsequently kidnapped and forced into sexual slavery/ human trafficking.

Quote from the article: According to CNN, Italian investigators said Herba had already organized several online auctions for abducted girls. The website for these auctions included a description of the victim and a starting price. It is, however, not clear if the photos of the women put up by the group are authentic.

"Ayling was lured to Milan for a fake photoshoot July 11 and was drugged with ketamine. She was then stuffed inside a “dark bag.” She was then taken to a house in a remote area, from where Herba allegedly tried to sell her on the internet, CNN reported."

the daily mail article on this is similarly telling for its ambiguity and outright oppositional statements... the crime is portrayed as a sex trafficking kidnap, but then also as a ransom. the man arrested described as a 'odd' loner with a "pet rat" who stalked her IG. but then described as a part of serious organized crime rings for purpose of sex slavery, which apparently the authorities know all about.... also, the evidence seems a bit much- a calling card letter left and description of the group 'black death'... well that doesn't look like a setup at all! finally, they take her back! because she has a kid?? wtf?? zero-sensical. only thing i can think is of course a pedophile would not want a 'woman' - of which child birth is a definite marker.... though nothing in this story overtly mentions pedophilia. the whole story as written is kinda strange, not the fact that such a thing 'could' happen, but THIS particular story quite odd.
