Caveat: the OP's article is written with a humanist bias and so cannot be trusted as being objective.

According to the primeval Jewish view, the blood was the seat of the soul.

True: Adam (meaning mankind) is three letter word, with two of those letters making the word "dam", meaning blood. However the author fails to mention that the drinking of blood is expressly forbidden in Judaism.

Likewise the sacrifice of children was condemned:

And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin. Jeremiah32:35
