William Browder testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee about registration of foreign agents. He is not buying the cover story that the Russians met the Trump folks and talked about Adoption. In fact he says if you look at Veselnitskaya's Twitter feed she almost never talks about adoption, but she talks about Browder and the Magnitsky Act all the time.

Other topics touche upon included Fusion GPS who lobbied against the Magnitsky AND who commissioned the dossier on Trump from Orbis Business Intelligence, the Uranium One sale.

Some stuff I didn't know. Trump can't overturn the Magnitsky Act, but the president does have the power of removing people from the Treasury sanctions list, so there is real possibility of quid pro quo in this meeting.

Treasury sanctions don't just apply in the US. Browder said that any bank in the world doesn't want to violate US treasury sanctions. So the folks on the list now have big problems moving their money. He said the reason Russia is so upset about the Magnitsky Act is it affects Putin's money and he doesn't want his accounts frozen.

Death's associated with the Magnitsky case.

Sergei Magnitsky, uncovered a massive tax fraud involving high officials. After reporting this crime, he himself was then arrested and he died in Prison. Three years later became first Russian to go on trial after death

Boris Netmsov, opposition leader argued for passage of Magnitsky Act in US and Canada murdered right close to the Kremlin.

Vladimir Kara-Murza worked with Netmsov on Magnitsky act, poisoned twice, survived

Nikolai Gorokhov, the Magnitsky family lawyer, thrown from fourth floor window, survived.

Prevezon, the company that Veselnitskaya represents had about 18 million frozen in the US, but has spent about 30 million in his anti-Magnitsky Act campaign.

Veselnitskaya is the lawyer for the Pyotr D. Katsyv, "vice president of Russian Railways, a state-owned railroad monopoly that is the country’s largest employer." Browder said this was the second most important company in Russia, so she very close to the Kremlin.
