Edit: I have asked the mods to flag this post as unverified. I took this decision largely as this was a speculative piece from the outset but primarily because one of the attached images (1st) makes claims that have not been backed up. I do still believe that there is lots to examine in the lives and deaths of Chester Bennington & Chris Cornell and many unanswered questions in this post.

I also felt to edit or delete this post with nearly 200 comments would be a betrayal of the valuable conversation that took place.

Chester committed suicide on Chris Cornell of Soungarden's birthday and played tribute at his funeral in May of this year, also suicide

they came out of nowhere and had an instant global marketing drive for their debut album. Kids are abused but I'm guessing they're given a path to an easier life when they grow up to keep quiet.

That doesn't convince me to be honest. They got a pretty ordinary deal as one of hundreds of bands of their genre and the hype machine only started as their debut single met great success. For a guy who is supposed to shut up he was pretty open about being abused and his lyrics reflect that.

I am 100% certain that his death is not a clear cut suicide but has a lot to do with knowing too much or recently making connections but making Linkin Park successful as a way to keep him quiet is too far-fetched.
